Just the other week, Ronda Rousey, one of the most popular martial artists in recent memory (or athletes in general, for that matter), was spotted having a sweet moment with a young fan at an open workout event in Brazil. While it’s always heartwarming to see the gentler side of athletes that could likely knock any of us into next month with a single hit, it wouldn’t be us if we didn’t point out that those look like some mighty fine martial arts mats she’s standing on. If they’re good enough for her, well, who are we to argue?
We’re offering martial arts mats in a couple of different thicknesses and four different colors, and yes, we’ve got red and black if you want to do that cool checkered thing they had in that video. The thicknesses available are ½”, ¾”, and 1”. Depending on what kind of martial arts you’re doing you’ll have the freedom to choose the thickness that best suits your needs – if you’re boxing, you’ll likely want the ½” since there’s going to be a higher priority on firm footing and less falling, pinning, etc. will occur. If you’re doing judo or something where there’s a lot more forceful interaction with the floor, a thicker option is probably best. If you’re doing any kind of martial arts whatsoever with Ms. Rousey, we highly recommend the 1”. Maybe two sets of 1” stacked on top of each other. And some kind of full-body armor.
As always, like us on Facebook for notifications about great deals on stuff like the martial arts mats, and a 5% discount on every order. We’re happy to help with all your mat-related questions, so if you’re not quite sure what your practice needs, give us a call or email and we’ll be happy to help you figure it out!
