If We Sell Mats had an FAQ page, it would look pretty ridiculous. For just about every question that could be asked, the answer would most likely be, “Call us!” Seriously, whenever we get a call or email about mats, it’s usually about mats used for exercise in home gyms. And home gyms are so unique and diverse that it would be impossible to give general answers regarding flooring options. Almost any space in your home can be turned into a gym, or at least a small workout area. So if you’re considering designating an area for this purpose, let us ask you a few questions. First, what is the floor like? Carpeted? Ok, if it is, then you have a decision to make. Carpet is not a good surface for exercise. You’re going to want to pull the carpet and replace it with, hmmm…foam mats???? Or you’re going to need to choose a different space. Carpet dos not provide either stability or durability, two crucial components of a home gym. You need flooring that will not retain odors or stains, something that washes up easily, and that provides your body with shock-absorbing softness and yet is a supportive and solid foundation for you and whatever equipment you may use. If you’re not willing to pull up the carpet and that’s the only space you have, then we suggest our commercial rubber tiles which can help protect your carpet and provide you with a stable workout surface.
Many workouts today involve different disciplines; stretching, high-impact movements, or plyometrics. To protect your joints in these activities, we suggest our high-density, anti-fatigue EVA floor mats. Choose your thickness: 3/8″ or 1/2″ and of course, your color. Determine the space you have to work with and then give us a call. We can help you determine which mats will suit your needs and how many of them you’ll need. If you’re still unsure, we can even send you a free sample. Still have questions? Check out our FAQ page – just kidding – call us!! We love to talk with folks about their dreams for home fitness areas and we’re really good at helping you get just what you want!
